Running Bunnies Baby Quilt
Ben's mother-in-law, Barbara Newman, helps raise funds for the "Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation" in Poughkeepsie, NY for the support of those effected by breast cancer in New York’s Hudson Valley. I had fun making this baby quilt for the silent auction at their spring luncheon. It raised $120. |

Barbara loves to garden and watch the bees in her flowers. So I made her a wall-hanging with a honeycomb and honey bee motif and her favorite slogan. |
When our niece Dina married Michael Secchiaroli and had their son, she got to pick his religion and Dad got to pick his name. So this summer, when Guido Secchiaroli celebrated his Bar Mitzvah, all 4 of us Supniks were needed to participate in the service. We had 3 prayer shawls so I made this one for Bob to wear as he carried the Torah scroll around the temple sanctuary. |
When Jonathan was in 3rd grade (25 year ago) I was the room mother and did a quilting project with his classmates. They each had a turn at sewing this Bald Eagle quilt on my portable sewing machine and doing a little hand quilting once the top was layered. The quilt hung on the wall behind the circulation desk in the K - 8 school library until this year. They're updating the library and the quilt came back to me because it was thoroughly labeled. I washed it and passed it along to Gene Stamell, his now retired teacher, so it can be enjoyed for another 25 years. |
When Bob's sister Lee moved into her new apartment in Woburn, I had fun helping her decorate it. She picked out the fabrics and I made curtains for her living room and recovered her dining chairs with new fabric and vinyl (cat proof). I used the same fabric in her favorite color to make this fun wall clock out of a large embroidery hoop and some antique buttons.. |
